Should I see my old teacher?

This probably sounds stupid, but I am actually hoping for some advice.

I’ve been looking for my old middle school teacher for about two years. I tried emailing the school he works at, but got the address wrong. I tried calling the education department, and I scanned through the phone book, but there was nothing.

Today, miraculously I found him through another teacher. I called him and he said he’d love to catch up. He also said we should have a class reunion.

This teacher taught us all about life. He was amazing. The best thing that ever happened to me, turned my life around.

I’m going to see him next month, but I’m so overwhelmed, I just think that if I do go see him, I’ll be overly excited and make an idiot of myself. He’s a life mentor to me, and I’d hate for him to think that he failed. I’m just so overwhelmed that I finally found him, it makes me sad.

It would be great if anyone had advice on what I could do.

Personally I think it’s a great idea to catch up with him. I also have one teacher who was my elementary teacher and I look up to her for everything. She taught me some of the most valuable lessons I have in life. And much like you did I searched around trying to find her contact information, what I have found as a simpler way is just going to the schools website.

I know at least in the united states the government requires all public schools to have a website which list’s every teachers phone number and e-mail.

Best advice is just to relax don’t think. He taught you for a year at least he knows you pretty well so no need to be nervous. I am sure he won’t think he failed, if any of his students from the sounds of it’s the students fault not his.

Just enjoy seeing him and fill him in on whats going on with your life and just have fun. No pressure to impress him.
